Hikvision ports

This might be a stupid question but i just cant get my head round it.

So if i have a 32 way hikvision Nvr ive been informed by my supplier that i can only connect a 4 way poe switch with 4 cameras per port, ive done a bandwidth calculation on 8 cameras which comes out at 82 mbps and the hikvision spec says the ports on the back are 10/100mbps ports so why wouldnt it work?

I under stand there are alternate methods like using the lan port but i just want to know so hoping itl give me a...
