Is it OK to locate a NVR in the loft. Was thinking of placing NVR on a shelf up in the loft out of the way. Just concerned of the safety, don't want to burn the house down! Also when we have our 3 days of summer will it be ok up there as they do get warm?

Hi guys


I have 3 DS-2DE4225IW-DE that won't upgrade firmware, I have tried via the camera web GUI and a batch configuration tool and get the message failed to get the upgrading progress.


Currently, they are on V5.5.71 108725 however the latest is 5.5.8

Just can work this out.

I have hard wired ZXtech IP camera working many months, stopped seeing image via NVR(ZXTech)

I can see image on IE and Onvifer just not on NVR

I have changed IP address same result
Changed resolution on cam software & NVR several times no change
Changed Streams, Changed Frame Rates, switched everything on and off (apart from router & switch), changed stuff I dont know what it does.
IPs all outside DHCP range

I dont know where to go now. All other cameras (3) fine...

This is probably a very stupid question but...
How does HikConnect know the IP address of a camera? If it is because the camera connects to Hik servers and therefore we have the source address then the next question is how do we know the address of the video recorder if the IP address of the home router is dynamic?

All of the explanation I have read so far make no sense or gloss over the hard bits. Perhaps it is me?

This is a strange one but here goes.
I have HIK nvr and one camera.
I can access this camera and nvr no problems on all devices, laptop, android phones with the exception of one single device.
My fire tablet has stopped connecting to the camera/nvr to get live view and recorded video. All other devices are still fine. This tablet was previously working without fail for couple of years.

Ive deleted all software on the tablet ivms, hik connect e.t.c.
Re-installed various flavours of the ivms...

Hello

I hope you can help me with some advice about buying a CCTV setup (and I hope I'm in the right place!). Sorry for the long post

I've been thinking about CCTV for a while and have done some research but there are so many options that it's hard to know what to do for the best without the benefit of someone's personal experience.

I setup an IP camera to my driveway. connects to the app fine and the onvifer app too. However I can’t record continually on my mobile. I just need it to record somewhere without it having to be driven via mobile, but still with the ability to remotely view camera. I’m wondering if a wireless NVR is a good route to go or if something like Angelcam would be fine?

On My Hik vision DVNR aftersoo long the option for Image & Video Encryption re enables its self even though i disable it via my phone and on the DNVR.

Can i permanently disable this option ?

i was playing with email settings and all of a sudden the address changed to something like localhost:xxxx
i could not get into the camera anymore, i had to power cycle the camera to get it to work gain.

Firstly, your device will need to be running recent / the latest available firmware.

We have only yesterday seen the first reference to this feature in the brief notes to the latest firmware for the -I Series NVRs:
Latest HikVision Firmware for -I NVRs - new V4.1.65 (76XX, 77XX, 96XX NI-I)
e.g. it should work with -I Series NVRs running firmware V4.1.65 or newer...

I've got a 7608NI-I2/82 on FW 4.1.63. Today I was fooling around with the minimum and maximum size settings in both intrusion detection and line crossing in an attempt to reduce false alarms from cats, possums, motion lights at night, etc. Has anyone used these settings with success? Seems like these settings have more potential for fine tuning than the sensitivity and threshold settings for this purpose.

I just purchased 2 more Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I 4MP HD cameras to match the one I have working already. I plugged them into my main, 24 port switch downstairs and configured each of them with unique IP addresses. I am also using injectors to power these POE. I was able to see them fine on both the SADP setup tool and in Blue Iris. Then, I moved them to another remote switch upstairs that I want to permanently attach them to. They power up fine but do not communicate with either SADP or Blue...

Hi,

Since this NVR has port at the back, does it mean i need to directly plug the IP camera there? some of my IP cameras have multiple switch hops via fiber.
