Hikvision camera losing its main stream settings (after access via the Hik-Connect mobile App)

Hi,

I've got a DS-2CD2142FWD-I on my home network, it's the only camera I have.
  • Not using a DVR, camera isn't set to record
  • Gigabit network, using PoE
  • Using Hik-Connect for DDNS and the Hik-Connect app on the iPhone
The main stream seems to randomly switch from 2688*1520 down to 1280*720P and a decent framerate and bitrate down to 10fps, and 512Kpbs.

If I change it to what I want it seems to "save" OK and live view looks great. Then a day or two later I notice that...

Tamper proof trunking

Hi,

Do you reccomend any way of running cables down external walls to prevent them being tampered with?

I was thinking something along the lines of what people put into plaster on internal walls to hide cables.
I'm thinking metal so it cant be snapped.

Anyone have any ideas or experiences of doing this?

Hik Connect live view timeout

I want to live view constant from an android but after 5 min it times out, I'm sure this is new as in the past its ran constant but with random drop outs. But now there is actually a message you've viewed live for 5 mins and screen goes blank. Can it be turned off?

It is the first time that I connect ip camera and I have an issue.
I cannot connect the above Ip camera (and to hik-connect) with this DVR.

As you will have seen from other posts in the Milesight section at the time of starting this thread Milesight do NOT offer Mac-friendly utility (like Smart Tools) to set up and manage their cameras. But this does not mean that you can't access, view, and change the settings of a Milesight camera/NVR with a Mac, because as you will see from the screenshot once you have set the device up with a PC you can open Safari browser on a Mac, search the IP address and log in to the camera...

Default password not working

Hi there,

I have factory reset the DS-7716NI-SP and it's asking for a default password but 12345 or the one that I set is not working.

Any ideas?

The firmware that I am using is V3.4.3 build 160811. UK edition.

First off all I want to say Hi to all use-ip community.

I have on my hands an Easy Ip 4.0 Series AcuSence NVR.
I am trying to test its capabilities with 2 simple (no AcuSence) ip cams.

First cam is a new non POE, no smart event (only motion) DS-2CD2021G1-IDW1, connected by wire (WiFi disabled).
Second is an older POE (not used for now), smart event (line crossing-intrusion) DS-2CD2020F-I.

Lets talk about the first cam.
Camera supports 2 motion detection configuration, Normal and Expert...

I need to start / stop video recording and save on local SD CARD on my Cube Cam (DS-2CD2442FWD) using API.
I have read the manual but seems that the command to register are based only on event (Smart, Line ecc).

Any suggestion?

does anyone use the Remote Backup software, I am trying to write 30 days of Backups to an external drive and all I keep getting is that it failed writing to disk. I have tried multiple locations and can manually write to all of them

Is it Possible to add 3rd-Party Cameras to Hikvision's iVMS-4200 & Hik-connect?

This is a question that pops up every so often, the simple answer is no. If you are running your Hikvision system from their iVMS-4200 software then it is not possible to add individual 3rd-party cameras to the iVMS software, the only way around this is to add the 3rd-party cameras to a Hikvision NVR and then add that NVR to the iVMS software.

It s quite common that VMS solutions from specific manufacturers will either not support other brands at all or require you to purchase expensive...

Is it Possible to add 3rd-Party Cameras to Hikvision's iVMS-4200 & Hik-connect?

Help. Looking for a system that will interrupt my tv channel when motion detected

Hi

A long time ago I had a simple (and cheap) wired system that would interrupt my tv viewing when motion was detected on any of my cameras and show the relevant camera on my screen.

I cant seem to find any systems currently that offer this.

Anyone know of any?

Hikvision not providing replacement warranty.

Hikvision is now not giving of replacement warranty for hiss camera. I purchased a bullete camera. But after some time pasing from the installation the water has come inside the camera. This is is unbeliveable because company says it is water proof. And now he deny from replacement due to water even camera is under warrany.

Hi, i have a Old but new "Hikvision 7208 HQ HI F1N" that i brought about 3 years+ ago but never used. I now want to set it up but as soon as i enter the 1st live view page i get a message come up saying "Down load & install plugin & close browser when installing" This i have done in 2 browsers "Crome & IE" & i still keep getting this message & cant get rid of it. Not a good start. Any suggestion??

Emails every 5 minutes

HI everyone. I have just had CCTV installed so this is all new to me, so please bear with me. I have a Hikvision NVR DS-7600 and have had email notifications set up. The trouble is I get an email every 5 minutes, a UPNP report which tells me absolutely nothing of any use. I do also gets ones that inform me of an event (eg a line crossing), although I think I should get a picture, but I don't. I would really like to stop the emails except for the useful ones as I (and I can't imagine anyone...

Problems Running iVMS-4200 on MacOS Catalina(10.15)

We have had several customers and forum users reporting problems running iVMS-4200 since updating to MacOS Catalina (10.15), the reports have varied from some saying the software runs ok but does crash unexpectedly to others saying the iVMS software does not work at all.

If you have G1 cameras (2xx3G0/2xx5FWD/2xx5G1) and/or an I-series NVR you can get around the iVMS issues by updating to the latest firmware and logging in to the NVR/cameras with any browser using the 'plug-in free'...
