First timer seeking advice.

Apologies in advance if some of my questions don't make much sense, but this is my first adventure into security cameras.

I intend to set up four cameras around my house and today I bought three new HIK Vision DS-2CD2722FWD-IZS on eBay. I'll be buying one more camera (probably again from eBay) in the next week or so - camera will be HIK but maybe a different model.

I intend using PoE to supply power to the cameras.

I have a HIK Vision 8 port PoE Switch - DS-3E0109P-E (also new and bought...

Hi all - first post from me so be gentle.

Am considering installing my own Hikvision 4K CCTV. I know my way around networking and structured cabling, so no worries there.

My query relates to which cameras....

For the most part, the camera will cover entry points of less than 10m so am thinking fixed 2.8mm lens, 8MP - are the G2's that much better than the G1's is my first question?

The only two places this isn't the case is one that will need to cover a door around 20m away and another...

Hi This is my first post on here so here goes. December i changed the internet to superfast 140MBPS on the IVMS 4200 service platform and had worked resonably well prior to the new broadband service. The cameras had obviously not been set up properly as even on live view at the NVR i had sparodic time lapse the time was not sync'ed and was way out. The lead time pre event was not correct, all things at the time i put up with. The two lads that installed it for me no longer trade but i did...

Apple have just released an update to their Safari browser - V12.0

First reports are coming in that with this version of Safari it is no longer possible to view Live Video from your Hikvision cameras.

The latest version of the Mac plugin currently available is V3.0.6.23 (on that landing page click Downloads at the left side; this version is dated Feb 12th 2018) - this is the latest version of the plugin we can find...

Unwanted zone rectangles in iVMS-4200 Main View

My live view window is cluttered with unwanted coloured rectangles highlighting the intrusion detection zones I have set, and sometimes with unwanted animated rectangles showing movement zones. I haven't knowingly asked for these to be displayed in main view, nor have I activated analytics for any of my cameras. Where can I turn them off?

I don't get them when setting just motion detection zones.

SCP/SSH to DS-9664NI and Copy Files Off

Hello, I have a DS-9664NI-I8, running firmware V4.22.005 build 191208.

RemoteBackup is a crap bit of software, so I was hoping I could script my own backup and use SCP/SSH to copy files to a remote location.

I have managed to SSH connect in, but I am presented with a BusyBox piece of crap.

I just want to copy files off the device. Is this possible without custom firmware?

Modem changing - best way to prepare?

My internet service provider is changing to higher speed fiber, which requires a change of the gateway/modem. I currently have the modem in bridged mode, allowing a Netgear router to handle everything relating to internet connectivity. Is there anything I should do, copy, make note of, before AT&T comes in an rips out the old modem and installs the new one? I've already confirmed I will have access to the new modem to make modifications, but I'm sure something will throw off my HikVision...

Am trying to access my NVR remotely on a browser and am able to view all the cameras but unfortunately one of them shows "no live view". When i try log into that specific camera am able to access it, How do I fix this such that am able to view it with the rest of the cameras

Hi,

I have a Hikvision DS-KB6003-WIP video doorbell, with a 128gb SanDisk memory card installed and which is also connected to my Hikvision Turbo DVR via it's IP address.

One of the features of this doorbell is a notification system via the Hik-Connect iphone app. Every time somebody stands in front of the door, i receive a notification. There are adjustable motion detection settings and you get a thumbnail and short video for each event.

NVR offline problem

Hello there,
i recently bought a HikVision DS-7608NI-K2 NVR and 3 DS-2CD1143G0-I F2.8 IPC.
i have set up the nvr to 192.168.1.100 ip on the LAN and the camers on 101 , 102 and 103 ips.
ports i have used are 8000 for the NVR and 8001 8002 8003 for the cameras.
I added the camers to Hik-Connect nomally with their serial number and they work fine, but when im trying to add thr NVR i get the message "The device cannot be added. "
The other problem i have is that in Menu-> Configuration ->...

Hi everyone,

Struggling to find a doorbell that matchs my requisites that are:

Must have:
  • Ethernet Port 10/100M - Protocol IP
  • Monitoring through Android APP
  • Relay Output -> when the doorbell button is pressed a physical chime rings
  • Relay Output -> for door opening (nive to have)
  • RSTP (nice to have)
  • SIP (nice to have)
  • Don't want a doorbell exclusively with wi-fi, want wired.
  • Don't want a inside station screen.

Hik-Connect and RTSP at the same time

Hello,
We have encountered problem with Hikvision NVR. We are using NVR model DS-7608/7616NI-K2/8P(16P) with 8 Hikvision bullet cameras.

We would like to use Hik-Connect and RTSP feature at the same time, but Hik-Connect encrypts the video, and we can access it through RTSP feed, but we can only see encrypted video signal, gray screen with noise.

If we turn off Hik-Connect feature, RTSP stream works, but we cannot connect from remote.

Is there a way to pass encryption key in RTSP url...

Capturing snapshots from my Hikvision NVR?

Hi, all, i am sorry to bother you guys but i was wondering if you could help with a question. I have Hikvision 7608NI-I2-8P Nvr along with a couple of 2385''s and 2355's, I am interested in having snapshots taken of evens and being stored on the NVR like i could do with my Dahua when i had it. I have noticed on the cams it will take full-res photos but on the NVR will only take relatively low res pics, do you if there is a workaround for this?

Hi there. I bought several DS-2CD2T46G1-4I HIKVISION cameras. Firmware ver. 5.5.71_181206. Network attached to Hikvision NVR DS-7616NI-2I/16P.
Surprisingly when setting EVENT BASIC->MOVEMENT DETECTION I got the message "Operation failed , function not implemented". Moreover when trying to set "ADVANCED EVENT-> any sub-function requested (i.e. Intrusion, line trespassing etc) was denied with the message " PARAMETER ERROR".
Tried to upgrade firmware with the latest ver. 5.6.0_190507 but with...

Colourvu system not connecting

Just got the colourvu system, initially set up but then moved to put in place and now can’t connect. We have rebooted and tried to follow advice given but still not connecting. Any ideas please?
